Romonda Gaston, Director of Housing Choice Voucher (Section

 The mission of the Housing Choice Voucher Department is to provide excellent service to the families and owners participating in the Housing Choice Voucher Program. For more than 9 years, Romonda Gaston has been working to meet the social and economic needs of Winston-Salem residents and the surrounding area. Since 2000, she has focused her efforts on HAWS and is currently the agency's Director Housing Choice Voucher.

As a member of HAWS executive staff, Romonda focuses on the organization's long-term plans and strategic goals. She develops, directs, administers and manages the operations for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8).

HAWS subsidized housing programs include more than 4200 vouchers, approximately 178 units assisted under the Moderate Rehabilitation Programs, the Shelter Plus Care Program, the HOPWA rental subsidy program and the Project-Based Voucher Program.
