If you are interested in doing business with the Housing Authority of the City of Winston-Salem, please complete all the documents in the vendor registration packet.

Once the completed HAWS Certified Contractors Application packet has been sent to the procurement department, potential vendors can be considered for bid opportunities listed below.
Potential vendors should be aware that in some cases, the Authority will issue a request for qualifications (RFQ) and will require responses to the RFQ to be on file along with the completed vendor registration packet.
Policy and Practice
It is the policy and practice of HAWS Procurement Department to afford quality vendors and contractors, regardless of social or economic classification, the maximum opportunity to participate in contracting opportunities. The result of our efforts is the procurement of quality goods and services in a fair, open, competitive and respectful process for everyone involved.
To accomplish our mission of providing affordable housing, it is imperative that HAWS works with vendors and contractors that can deliver the highest quality of goods and services at the best value. In order to maximize its contracting dollars, HAWS looks for much competition as the open market will provide. We are always looking for new qualified vendors. We obtain these by:
- Placing notices of upcoming contracting opportunities in the Winston-Salem Journal, various minority newspapers and journals, and on our website.
- Through recommendations and references from our technical and program experts
- Applications to be placed on the Vendors/Contractors Mailing List
NOTE: The Housing Authority of the City of Winston-Salem will no longer advertise excess (surplus) property for sale on this website. The sale of all excess property will now be advertised at the following website: http://www.govdeals.com. Please visit this website to register as a "Bidder" to submit bids for purchase. Winning bidders will be held responsible for making arrangements to collect/pick up items after final purchase.
